At Marina Palamós, we lead the energy transition and decarbonization of the nautical sector in the Mediterranean. Our commitment to sustainability and protecting the marine environment drives us to implement innovative solutions that reduce our carbon footprint and promote a more responsible energy management model.

Our main goal is clear: to maximize our energy self-sufficiency. To achieve this, we have installed an advanced energy storage system integrated with a powerful photovoltaic solar energy infrastructure. This approach allows us to generate, store, and consume renewable energy efficiently, minimizing reliance on external sources and promoting the port’s energy autonomy.

What makes our system unique?

  1. Photovoltaic solar energy generation: With a capacity of 300 kW, our facility makes the most of solar radiation to produce clean, sustainable energy.
  2. Advanced storage technology: We use lithium-ion batteries with a storage capacity of 480 kWh and a nominal power of 100 kW, ensuring efficient management of the energy generated.
  3. Positive environmental impact: Over the past year, we generated more than 415 MWh of renewable energy, achieving energy self-sufficiency for 8 months. This represents a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable model for port facilities.

Benefits of our commitment

  • Reduction of CO2 emissions: By using solar energy, we significantly reduce our carbon footprint, helping to mitigate climate change.
  • Energy savings: Integrating storage systems optimizes consumption and reduces costs in the long term.
  • Inspiration for other ports: Marina Palamós stands as a benchmark for sustainability, paving the way for a responsible energy future in the nautical sector.

We continue to move forward with passion and determination to build a cleaner, more sustainable Mediterranean.
