🌍 February 26 is World Environmental Education Day, and we want to highlight Marina Palamós’ initiatives to protect the environment. In addition, we are pleased to announce that we will organize educational visits on environmental topics for schools, promoting ecological awareness among young people.

💧 Sustainable water management: Reduction of consumption by more than 60% in the last two years and future installation of a desalination plant powered by renewable energy, with a capacity to generate 1,000 liters per hour, achieving self-sufficiency above 75%.

☀️ Use of renewable energies: Annual generation of 415 MWh through photovoltaic solar energy, ensuring energy self-sufficiency for 8 months of the year.

🐠 Marine conservation: Participation in innovative projects such as Ocean Ecostructures since 2021, focused on the regeneration of marine biodiversity through the application of cutting-edge scientific innovations.

Implementation of the SEAM model: Adaptive Environmental Management in Marinas (SEAM) to assess and improve the ecological health of the port through science and technology-based solutions.

🌿 Reforestation and CO₂ absorption: Planting of nearly 4,000 new plants of 30 different species adapted to the marine environment, contributing to CO₂ absorption.

🚗💨 Pollutant neutralization: Installation of photocatalytic pavements that neutralize pollutant gases (sulfur and nitrogen) emitted by vehicles.

🧽🤿 Annual seabed cleaning: Organization of seabed cleaning campaigns in the port every year before summer, inviting the community to actively participate.

Environmental certifications: Obtaining accreditations such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and EMAS 2026, which endorse our commitment to quality and environmental management.

🌱 Looking ahead to 2026, our goal is to achieve neutrality in direct CO2 emissions.

💙 These actions reflect our commitment to sustainability and the conservation of the marine environment. We will continue working to reduce our environmental impact and foster a more harmonious relationship with the sea, promoting initiatives that benefit both nature and the community.
